The Pease House
Custom Timber Frame Home

The Pease house is a small, rustic timber frame that was built 1.5 miles up Seldovia Bay from the town of Seldovia.

All materials were transported to the building site by use of boat and hand carried up the trail to the house site. The timbers and panels were transported on a barge and lifted by a crane that sat on the floating barge, to be set at the house site.

Key Features of this custom home construction:

  • Remote location;
  • Vaulted ceilings & open floor plan;
  • Two stories + a small sleeping loft;
  • Tile hearth for a wood stove;
  • Tongue & groove ceiling and wall paneling throughout;
  • Full wrap-around deck with wire railing;
  • An additional satellite deck for entertaining guests;
  • Ramp from beach constructed with metal grating;
  • Not plumbed for water/sewer by choice of the homeowner.
